Riders on course for cross-border success Belfast Telegraph
Road racing has received a welcome boost with the announcement of a first-ever cross-border championship — a new initiative that is the brainchild of committee members from both the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club and Kells and District Motorcycle Racing Club based in Co Meath.
This exciting new venture has attracted the backing of prestigious motorcycle racing sponsors Adelaide Insurance Services and waste management company Coleraine Skip Hire and Recycling who are already headline sponsors of the Kells and Armoy road race events.
Top officials from each club attended yesterday’s launch, hosted by Northern Ireland MLA Ian Paisley Jnr supported by Sports Minister Nelson McCausland, alongside local councillors and executives from both Moyle District Council and Kells Town Council. Top road racing competitors William Dunlop, Ryan Farquhar, John Burrows, Adrian Archibald and Wayne Hamilton were also on hand to help support the new venture that will see round one of the series get under way at Kells Road Races on July 17-18.
